Cargo Handling

Monitoring the ground handling activities always has been our core business. You may require a global supervision of all handling activities, or wish that special attention be given to one area in particular. Of course, we can always find a tailored solution for you and we offer a vast range of supervisory services:

1. Shipment Instruction and Control

Guarantee build-up plan instructions for a specific flight, based on the final booking list, which comply with all legal and procedural regulations. Elements are:

Ensure locally prepared flight load plan instructions are made and adhered-to by third-party handling companies.  Included in this planning are all flight safety related issues and loading instructions for special loads like (heavy and big shipments). Any deviations require the approval of the Cargo Handling Supervisor.

Implement and adhere to local procedures, if local circumstances require so.

Review arrival manifest for irregularities prior to flight arrival, anticipate problems and instruct third party on necessary actions to alleviate or minimize consequences.

Preview future flights for potential conflicts, especially for cargo planned from another station.

 2. Flow Management

Coordinate and optimize the match of capacity and demand in the day to day operation

When necessary amend the daily capacity planning by updating last-minute capacity information.
Ensure Shipments will be uplifted according shipment specification

Coordinate with Trucker (If applicable) local operational issues. Discrepancies to be reported to the Manager Operations.

3. Operational Integrity / Procedural Compliance

Stations have a set of operational procedures which comply with all legal and procedural regulations, taking into account specific local situations. As documented in E-doc.

Ensure local compliance of the operational procedures contained in the Minima and CHM, CSP’s and specific instructions as per E-doc.

Where local situations require; implement and adhere to procedures as per instruction Operations Manager

Ensure Safety Management Systems as deployed by the operating carriers are used.

Ensure your compulsory training is up to date.

4. Supplier management and quality control

All shipments and GHA service delivery is monitored, measured and reported against pre-defined quality standards.(SLA with GHA)
Actions need to be taken on all reported deviations by the specified responsible party. Elements of the above are:

Monitor third-party staff and equipment deployment to achieve all quality targets and to execute all working procedures required on a per-shipment and flight level.

Meet on a structural and regular basis with third-party handling companies to review procedural deviations and discrepancies including those identified by the C2K quality reporting system.

Prepare procedural “gap analysis” for monthly discussion with the local organizations including all involved third parties and Customer Service and Sales, as required.

Take local action to correct any deviations or discrepancies in any procedure mentioned herein.

Monitor all tracking/tracing (local) requests and ensure accurate and timely response by third-party handling company.
 
5. Interaction with internal and external customer

During flight operation there might be urgent internal and external requests and instructions.

Ensure instructions from Internal and external customers that require the immediate action and are within operational integrity limits, are executed. Report these ad-hoc deviations to your Market Manager
 
6. Communication / administration

Messages with regard to individual shipments, flights and other events must be sent correct, on time and according to pre-defined procedures to relevant and specified parties.  Elements are:

Ensure communication and working procedures between warehouse third-party and
others is in place and adhered to. Monitor, and take action to ensure, all messaging by third party as specified or otherwise agreed, is executed timely and correctly.

Ensure MAWB and HAWB data capture input prior to scheduled departure. Manage an up to date administration as defined by relevant and specified airlines departments

Manage up to date reporting and administration as defined by Operations Manager

7. ULD and stock control

Available equipment and consumables used for handling. Elements are:

Monitor the use of airlines equipment by third-party staff, Ensure ULD stock information is relayed timely and correctly.

Manage the station stock effectively.

8. Accounting

Correct and on time handling of invoices which comply with accounting procedures.

Ensure that all accounting procedures as issued by the Administrative organization are executed correct and on time.

Under Operations Manager delegation or in his absence, execute the first audit on all invoices for services performed at the station included but not limited to the handling invoice, equipment leases, maintenance, and consumables such     as plastic, wood, etc

Discuss and resolve with handling company management all cost discrepancies, involving the Operations Manager when necessary.
